QuickCar Installation Instructions

Gauge Panel Installation Instructions

Warning

IMPORTANT: Fuel Pressure gauges must be mounted outside of the vehicle's interior. This is required to prevent the possibility of explosion due to fumes escaping from a leaky connection.

Gauge Connection

Oil or Fuel Pressure Gauges

Determine routing for pressure line. If passing through a firewall you may need to drill a hole to accommodate a grommet to prevent chafing of the line. (Take care not to route near extreme heat or moving parts that may damage pressure line.)

Install adapter in appropriate pressure port in engine.

Connect pressure line to pressure port adapter.

Crank engine and check for leaks.

Water or Oil Temperature Gauge

NOTE: The sensor line on temperature gauge is under pressure and filled with ether. NEVER CUT THE LINE OR CRIMP THE LINE.

Determine routing for temperature sensor. If passing through a firewall you may need to drill a 7/8 hole to accommodate a grommet to prevent chafing of the line. (Take care not to route near extreme heat or moving parts that may damage sensor lines.)

Route temperature sensor through grommet in firewall.

Install adapter in sensor hole. (Make sure the sensor is in fluid and not an air pocket.) Insert temperature sensor in adapter and snug carefully. DO NOT rotate sensor while tightening nut or sensor line may be damaged, thus voiding the warranty. Crank engine and check for leaks.

Water Temperature Sender

Sender can be installed in the manifold, cylinder head, or water outlet. If no installation hole can be found, drill and tap a ½" NPT hole in the location of choice.

Oil Temperature Sender

For vehicles with oil coolers, install sender in one of the extra fittings in cooler.

If no fitting is available, install in-line between the oil cooler and engine.

For vehicles with wet sump, install a fitting in oil pan. Make sure the tip of the sender is in the oil flow.

Gauge Panel Wiring

Red wire or wires are to be connected to a power source.

Most often to the top of the ignition switch.

Black wire or wires are to be connected to the respective senders.
